Printing from Microsoft Remote Desktop app (v.10.5.0) on Mac doesn't start the print job on MAC

On a new iMac that should replace an older iMac that has a older version of Microsoft Remote Desktop app (8.0.43).

The problem itself
When a print job is started from the windows remote session the mac doesn't receive anything to print until the focus gets on the Mac itself (by clicking on mac desktop for example).

I tested it with an older beta version and the print job works but with some errors like printing two times the same page.
So I am pretty sure the problem commes from the Remote Desktop app.

Anybody has the same issues or someone knows how to fix this ?

Fast and dirty resolution of this problem would be to install an old version of Microsoft Remote Desktop but i cant seem to find the 8.0.43/44 in download for mac.

UPDATES ON THE PROBLEM 4.12.2020

Recently updated Microsoft Remote Desktop to latest version 10.5.0.

Actual problem
Any printjob started from RDP session wont print on the MAC.
Printing from the MAC on the same printer works fine locally.

    Hi,

Since you think the problems come from the Remote Desktop app (v.10.4.0), have you tried to install the latest version 10.4.1 (1817) to see if it helps?

I am having the same issue with both the beta and the stable release. The answers that appear to be the most shared on various forums all state that there should be a 'printer redirect' option. I know that is available in the built-in RDP program on a Windows machine but it is not available in the OSX version.

I have also seen other suggest simply saving as a PDF and then transferring the doc to a local machine and then printing but the user I am having trouble with is using a Quickbook remote software and the printing of checks needs to go straight to the printer.

Is there something else (a command to run in terminal or an error to find in the activity console) that would point to why and where the data transfer is failing. I see the session initiate on the PC but not transfer to the Mac
