Azure DevOps Python SDK maintenance & roadmap

We are currently using the Microsoft Python SDK (https://github.com/microsoft/azure-devops-python-api) within our organization to interact with ADO.

Looks like the project is no more supported or maintained by Microsoft. We would like to know if Microsoft team intends to keep these SDKs updated or should we switch to using the REST APIs directly without the client libraries.

Any direction would be much appreciated.
