No field to turn on isAssignableToRole when creating group

Hi !

I'm new in Azure and I'm testing Azure AD with free account but I don't have field to make my group assignable to role.
Is that normal ?

Hi @LucasB-6892,

Thanks for reaching out.

I understand that you are facing issue to assign role to the group while creation, as below field is not visible to you in your Azure AD portal.

This is because you don't have permission to assign roles to the group while creating the group.

You need the have below permissions to make the switch "Azure AD roles can be assigned to the group" visible

  1. Privileged Role Administrators and

  2. Global Administrators

Then you will be able to ON the switch to assign roles to the group directly.

Thank you for your help. I tried as you said by adding my user in those groups but I still don't see that switch.

Could you please confirm the roles has been assigned successfully to the user? You can check the user's role by navigating to

Azure AD > Users> Select the user >Assigned Roles

If the role has not been assigned successfully, you can refer this to assign the role to the user.
