Edge IE Mode Site List with Edge 100

The latest update to Edge 100.0.1185.29 has broken the ability to retain the local site list of IE mode pages. Previous version 99.0.1150.55 worked fine.

Issue:

Add a site to the list, under default browser in settings, that will open in IE mode. It works while the session is open, but once Edge is closed the site list is lost. You can add 1 or add 10 sites, all are lost after closing Edge.

Can reproduce on multiple PC's running Win 11 and Edge 100.0.1185.29.

Any ideas how to remedy?

Hi @22698143 ,

What you mentioned is a known issue that the Edge team is working on and has been fixed in Microsoft Edge Canary (version 102.0.1217.0+), so you can wait patiently for a new version update to fix this issue. You can also follow up on this case to see if this issue is resolved.

Because it may still take a while for the fix to be updated to the Edge stable version, so as an alternative, you can configure the IE mode site list via Group Policy, which won't stop working due to the exit of Edge. For how to configure IE mode group policy, please refer to this document, which contains detailed step description: Configure IE mode policies.

Hi @22698143 ,

May I know if you have got any chance to check my answer? I am glad to help if you have any other questions. And according to the case I mentioned, the relevant team has confirmed that the issue has been resolved in the latest version of Edge. So you just need to update Edge to fix this issue.

Hello,

Microsoft actually patched the issue in the production Edge browser last week; but, I do appreciate your feedback.
