Microsoft Edge Compatibility View Problem

We have some legacy software that is used on IE.

The company that provides this have advised that around 9 web pages need to be added into Microsoft Edge compatibility view for it to work after the 9th (Pay role software).

I add these websites and the software works, however, as soon as I close the web browser and open it back up again the websites have disappeared and they need adding to the list again.

I have added the web pages on another user's machine and do not get this problem. I have tried clearing the cache and history in IE and Edge same problem, Has anyone seen his problem before or have ideas for a fix?

Hi, please make sure you deploy GPO/admx to deploy such settings. You will be sure the settings stay there, and the user can't remove them too.

Your symptom can be cause by a GPO that reset your setting you write there.

It's there; User Configuration/Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Microsoft Edge, but please see that to setup it;

Configure IE mode policies

Hi @EuanCrichton-0582 ,

What you mentioned is a known issue that the Edge team is working on and has been fixed in Microsoft Edge Canary (version 102.0.1217.0+), so you can wait patiently for a new version update to fix this issue. You can also follow up on this case to see if this issue is resolved.

Because it may still take a while for the fix to be updated to the Edge stable version, so as an alternative, you can configure the IE mode site list via Group Policy, which won't stop working due to the exit of Edge. For how to configure IE mode group policy, please refer to this document, which contains detailed step description: Configure IE mode policies.

Hi @EuanCrichton-0582 ,

May I know if you have got any chance to check my answer? I am glad to help if you have any other questions. And as far as I know, the issue has been fixed in Microsoft Edge Stable Version 100.0.1185.36, so you just need to update Edge to fix it.
