Powerpoint video files not autoplaying at all

When playing the slideshow the inserted video files do not even show up on the screen nor do they play. Also having problems with fades and trimming not working at all. When working on the slides in normal view they are there as are all the commands. They are just not "sticking" or being applied when commanded.

Hi, @JohnC-6759
Welcome to the Q&A forum, you can try the following methods:
1. Check whether the video format is supported by PowerPoint. For video formats supported by PowerPoint, please refer to this link: video-and-audio-file-formats-supported-in-powerpoint
2. Check whether there is an Optimized Compatibility tab. If there is an Optimized Compatibility in File-Info, select "Optimized Compatibility". PowerPoint will improve any media that needs optimization.
3. Check [Disable Hardware Graphics Acceleration] and [Disable Slide Show Hardware Graphics Acceleration] in File-Options-Advanced.
