Query about SQL server monitoring pool configuration

Hello all,

Our environment consits of 5 managemnet servers in SCOM 2019.

Server 1 , server 2 - Dedicated for agent monitoring.
Server 3 - Azure Monitoring and VEEAM Vmware monitoring.
Server 4 - Network device monitoring
Server 5 - ACS collector server.

Currently all are part of SQL Server monitoring resource pool

Is it mandatory to keep all the management servers as a part of this resource pool ? if so what is the justification ?

If not , can we remove server 4 and server 5 from this resource pool ?

Hi @SushanthSK-5542,

If you have dedicated management servers (like 3, 4 and 5) you need to exclude those from the "SQL Server Resource Pool" as the SQL MP related workflows will also be spread amongst those servers if they are part of the resource pool.
So, this means that it makes sense that you have only Server 1 and Server 2 in your SQL resource pool, as those two servers are used for agent monitoring...
