storsimple behaviour on data read from cloud tier

Hi

We need to migrate data from Storsimple physical appliance. Will use robocopy to migrate the CIFS shares fronted by Windows servers from the Storsimple iSCSI LUNs.

I cannot find detail on what conditions data is repatriated from the cloud tier to the on premise tier. Will the robocopy initial baseline cause all tiered data for a LUN to be brought back to on premise? If so will that push other data already on premise out to cloud?
Is the tiering to cloud from on premise governed by capacity or file/block age or coolness? I don't find this documentation anywhere.

@nicbone-0691 For better understanding the issue: Is there any specific reason why are you using robocopy and not using data migration tool for Cloud migration?

we are migrating to a different on premise vendor solution - hopefully you will still be able to respond on the specific points raised? :-)
