Licenses needed for Google Cloud Connector

Hello Team ,

we are currently using office365 with version of Azure AD that comes it with for user sync with AD connect . As we intent to use Google Cloud we would like to federate Google Cloud Identity with Azure AD like this - https://cloud.google.com/architecture/identity/federating-gcp-with-azure-active-directory for user mgmt , SSO and MFA . We have installed Google Cloud / G Suite Connector by Microsoft but the user assigment per groups requires premium licenses at least p2 :

The question now is : i.e i have 150 users currently using office 365 and are being synced with Azure AD for that purposes , but for the Google cloud connector i actually need only 10 to 20 groups and around 50 users to be able to use it . When buying premium licenses do i need to buy licenses for all 150 users or only for the 50 that are going to be used in the google cloud connector. And one more question if i sync only groups in the Google cloud connector , does the users inside those groups need to have as well premium licenses assigned ?

Hi @Kamen-7260,

Azure AD is licensed per-user. This means that a proper license is required if a user benefits directly or indirectly from any feature covered by that license.

So if you are assigning roles to the groups with those users in it, or using other premium features such as Conditional Access that applies to those users, a Premium license is required. But if those features only apply to 50 of the users, you only need the licenses for those 50.
