Run the client side script on any affected computer ONCE after deleting the computer from the WSUS MMC console

https://www.ajtek.ca/wsus/client-machines-not-reporting-to-wsus-properly/

Then, if the issue doesn't resolve, follow down the troubleshooting down the page.

Hi Adam!
I´d already run the script but no success.

So proceed down the list of troubleshooting....

Can the client hit the WSUS site via browser ?

What does
$(New-Object -ComObject "Microsoft.Update.ServiceManager").Services | Select-Object Name, IsDefaultAUService
reveal?

These are just the 2 that I've picked out from that list - go through it from top to bottom.

Hi Adam! These are the results:

Yes, the client can connect to WSUS via browser.

And this is the result from powershell:

PS C:\Users\myuser> $(New-Object -ComObject "Microsoft.Update.ServiceManager").Services | Select-Object Name, IsDefaultAUService

Name IsDefaultAUService

@RicardoIto-0212
How many devices encounter this issue? Have you tried to clean up the database recently? If not, please try to Run the WSUS Server Cleanup Wizard and clean up the database.

In the past, a lot of guys feedback that the report issue has been resolved be cleaning up the database.

In addition, I found a related case and I want to share with you. Please try to run the scripts on the affected devices and check whether it is helpful.

Hope the above will be helpful.

This is also true.
Are you performing the proper WSUS maintenance including but not limited to running the Server Cleanup Wizard (SCW), declining superseded updates, running the SQL Indexing script, etc.?

Do you have a license to WAM? I'd love to see the .\Clean-WSUS.ps1 -FirstRun -HelpMe File output to see if I could see anything wrong. If you have a subscription, create a ticket on our site with the 2 output files of that command from the WAM Shell and ask for it to be escalated to me.

Also, on an affected client, what's the registry look like?

 Get-ItemProperty -Path 'HKLM:\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate'
 Get-ItemProperty -Path 'HKLM:\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU'

Hello guys!
I'd already run the Server Cleanup Wizard (SCW), declining superseded updates, running the SQL Indexing script and checked registry but no success.
For testing reasons I migrated WSUS database to a new MS SQL Express and worked. But I would like to work at MS SQL Standard 2019 version

I agree with @AJTek-Adam-J-Marshall.

Please ensure that the Automatic Update client has been configured correctly in the registry.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate

Also please try to reindex the database if you haven't tried before.
