Hello, we use cyber ark and a vm that was shut down for a couple week now needs to be turned back on but the local admin password changed while the vm was down so it didn't get updated. The server is also now out of the domain so I need to find a way to change the local admin password. I booted the vm with a 2016 install disk and chose repair and when I go to the cmd prompt I type bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yes so I can see the old safe mode boot screen which will have an option to ignore the Early Launch anti-malware driver. I rename utilman.exe and copy cmd to utilman so when i click on ease of use it will run cmd. I get to the boot menu screen and choose Disable EArly Launch anti malware driver and when i get to login screen and click on ease of use nothing happens. Any idea why?
If you have any other way of getting in to this vm please let me know. I suppose we can build a new 2016 server and install sql and detach the data drives on the current vm and attach to the new vm?
We migrated this on prem server to Azure a month ago and I can access the azure version of this server. Can i use azure backup to take a backup of the azure vm but restore it in on prem vcenter?

Yes that is very helpful. My vm in azure has a few data drives as well. I should do a disk export for each disk and when i have them downloaded on prem I still need to convert them to vmdk since i want to bring the vm up on prem in vcenter. I don't think vConverter should be used any more. Do you know how I can convert the vhd so it can be used in vmware? Thanks

So just export the OS and data drives on the vm, download all the vhd files from azure to on prem, use starwind v2v, choose local file, select the the downloaded c drive vhd file, for destination image select local file, for destination image format i select VMDK, for vmdk image format i select ESXi Server image, preallocated image. I can will do the same thing to all other data drives. Then i will create a new vm in vcenter but chose the c drive vmdk file and then attach the data drives after the vm is created...does that sound correct? I'll test tomorrow. thanks again
