Hi Guys,

I am facing an issue on the MDT server. I have installed MDT and deployed OS on the client but I have 2 to 3 local drives on the client system.

When I deployed MDT windows then I observed all partitions are removed and this process made only 1 partition which is the C drive.

I want to ask if we Can deploy MDT in only 1 drive C and the rest of my drives D, and E remains intact without any deletion.

    Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft MECM Q&A forum.

Yes, we can format only C drive during the OS deployment. Firstly, we need to remove the "Format and Partition" steps in your task sequence. Then set the destination to a specific Disk 0 and Partition 1 (for example) in "Apply Operating System Image" step or add a "Run command line" step to wipe C drive. (Note: Please back up your data.) For more information, please refer to:

During OS deployment, format the C drive only
Formatting only C drive using format and partition disk task sequence
Preventing overwriting of extra partitions in an MDT task sequence

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,
    Simon
