Content Distribution on SCCM DP not targetting other available drives on Server

Hi

MEM 2111

We're having a strange issue on one Distribution Point (hosted on WS 2k16 Server like all the others) where the pending packages are failing to get distributed. Though there are no evident errors in the distmgr.log of the Site Server, it looks like the distribution is attempted to only one drive (where the free space is exhausted). And even though there are other drives available the distribution doesn't seem to be failing over to the others.

How can we troubleshoot? Where can we look for further information on what could be possibly wrong?

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

It seems the J: has the priority 2 of the content library, so have we checked the drive that no content distribution on the drive?

And make sure there is no file named NO_SMS_ON_DRIVE.SMS in the root folder of the drive.

Hi @AllenLiu-MSFT

Yes the J: Drive does have some content "ContentLib" residing on it. But for some reason, there are several packages that are failing to get distributed. Also there is no "NO_SMS_ON_DRIVE.SMS" located on any of these drives (if it were none of them would be even visible in the above screen shot)

As per the PkgXferMgr.log I'm able to see Win 32 error code 112 which indicates "There is not enough space on the disk" message. Still unable to figure out why the other drives aren't being used for the content distribution.

If we check the registry: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\DP, are the three drives listed in "ContentLibUsableDrives"?
