I need a virtual machine with at least 4 cores and 4 gig of RAM with AVX2 support, while looking for the size, I found D4ads_V5 and D4ds_V5 but could not find the difference between the two except their price. Can anyone help me with this?

    Hi @Rashabh Kumar ,

    the difference between D4ads_v5 and D4ds_v5 VM are the CPU of the host running the VMS:

    Standard_D4ads_v5 using AMD's 3rd Generation EPYCTM 7763v processors on the host system.

    D4ds_v5 using Intel® Xeon® Platinum 8370C (Ice Lake) processor

    Hello @Rashabh Kumar ,

    Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A platform. Happy to answer your question.

    The major difference between D4ads_v5 and D4ds_v5 VM SKUs is the additive feature 'a' stands for AMD-based processor which D4ads_v5 has and D4ds_v5 doesn't.
    To understand the naming convention, please look at vm-naming-conventions

    Additive Features One or more lower case letters denote additive features, such as:
    a = AMD-based processor
    d = diskful (i.e., a local temp disk is present); this is for newer Azure VMs, see Ddv4 and Ddsv4-series
    i = isolated size
    l = low memory; a lower amount of memory than the memory intensive size
    m = memory intensive; the most amount of memory in a particular size
    t = tiny memory; the smallest amount of memory in a particular size
    s = Premium Storage capable, including possible use of Ultra SSD (Note: some newer sizes without the attribute of s can still support Premium Storage e.g. M128, M64, etc.)
    Other than that, another slight veriation is in Max uncached disk throughput: IOPS/MBps and Max burst uncached disk throughput: IOPS/MBps

    Specific Question:
    I need a virtual machine with at least 4 cores and 4 gig of RAM with AVX2 support.
    We don't have a SKU that matches this exact requirement, the suggestion is to use a SKU that is closer to the required configuration in terms of compute resources.
