How can I directly give full access in a plugin to users who paid for the app in the initial version?

Hello.

I have a paid app that has been purchased by 100 users.
In a new update I want to make the app "free" but offering only 10% of the content.
In the app I want to offer an in-app purchase (add-on) that gives full access to the app.

My question is, how can I directly give full access to the 100 users who paid for the application in the initial version?

Greetings and thanks.

Hello,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

Currently, there is no way to directly indicate who are the 100 users that paid for the application. But with the old Windows.ApplicationModel.Store namespace, you could request receipts to verify product purchases. Call the CurrentApp.RequestAppPurchaseAsync(Boolean) Method to get the receipts of the app. The returned value contains an AppReceipt data. It has a property called PurchaseDate which you could use to compare with the day that you update the new version. So that you could know if the user has paid for the initial version of the application or the user get the app for free.

Then you could unlock all the features for those users who have paid for the application.

Thank you.
