Powerpoint is not letting me add notes to my slides on MacOS Monterey 12.3

When I try to add notes to my slides by clicking on Click to add notes, it just blinks and does not show the writing cursor. And if I try to type, it does not type anything. If I try to copy-paste from elsewhere, then it just pastes my text onto the slide instead of inside the notes. Please see this video: view
And please get back to me as soon as possible. I have an assignment due in two days and can not do it without PowerPoint.

Hi @AyeshaBabar-1373

Does this issue occur with all presentations?
I would like to suggest you create a new blank presenation to check this issue.

Did you make any changes to Office prior to this issue
Such as installing 3rd-party add-ins and updates.
Please click "PowerPoint" on top bar > About PowerPoint, check the version number and license name. Then take a screenshot and share with us. (If there is any privacy informaion like your email account, please remember to cover it.)

It's recommended to click View tab > Switch to Outline View > Clikc "Notes" option and click on "Click to add notes" for a test.

I also suggest you click "Tools" on top bar > PowerPoint Add-ins, temporarily disable add-ins.

Any updates, welcome to post back.

Hi @emilyhua-msft!

Thank you so much for getting back to me. I had an adobe Acrobat extension on, and after disabling it, ppt seems to work better than before. I can add the notes now, thanks to you. But I still want to share my version number and licence name with you in case there is another issue and the Adobe Acrobat Add-in is just an excuse. Here is the screenshot of my version number and licence type: 195038-untitled-redacted.jpg. I hope you can get back to me as soon as possible.

P.S. I can now peacefully work on my assignment thanks to you!

Hi @AyeshaBabar-1373

I am glad that you can instert notes.

According to your reply, this issue is related to this 3rd-party add-in, not related to the Office updates. There may be incompatibility issues between them.
If there is any updates about this add-in later, it is recommended that you install this updates to have a check.

I am having the exact same issue. I have disabled the add-ins but I'm still getting the same result.

Yeah, I started to get the same issue again after a few days, so I guess it was not because of the add-ins. The only other workaround I found is quitting powerpoint and launching it again. After working on a few slides, I had to quit and relaunch. That's just how I use it now.
I hope that PowerPoint can figure a way out for us.
