network credentials

I have a NAS folder that I would like to add as a mapped drives. I continue to get a Windows Security box open asking me to "Enter network credentials". I have long since forgotten this information (both User name and Password). How do I reset this? I have a folder that I previously mapped that works fine. I tried several suggestions found on "https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums" with no luck.

Please Help if possible.

Why should I have to reset the password on my nas back to the factory default when I am able to log onto it gist fine with my current one? This seems to be a Win10 issue. In File Explorer under Network there is a subfolder with the name of my nas "MyNas". If I expand this I see all the folders I created on the nas. Only the music folder opens, (I believe I mapped this a year or so back). When I left click on any of the other folders Windows pops up a box asking for network credentials (Username and Password). My current working nas password will not work here.

When I mentioned that I can log onto the nas with my current password I am using a web browser pointing to the nas IP.

Might try to access via Windows Explorer instead of a web browser, otherwise follow along here.

Hi there,

The best way to get rid of the credentials is to open an elevated command prompt and type in:
net use \\server\share /delete

then type in:
klist purge

You can also go to the control panel -> User accounts -> click on your name -> to the left click on "credentials" (or manage your credentials). All the used network credentials will be there you can try to delete or reset the password from here.

Below threads discusses the same issue and you can try out some troubleshooting steps from this and see if that helps you to sort the Issue.
