Accessing Hyper-V Virtual machine using Radmin

Dear All,

We have a query regarding Virtual machine access, that is, while we accessing the virtual machine using Radmin, there is some lag while accessing. Whereas while accessing physical machine such lag is not there. Is there any special settings on Hyper-V ? Kindly suggest.

Mitesh

No settings I'm aware of but better to ask the vendor to confirm. I just use remote desktop protocol to access my hypervisor guests with no problems or issues.

Hi there,

It seems the connection goes through some rule that has been created by your Antivirus software that is causing the lag. Try disabling the services and try to access the Hyper V and see if there are some improvements.

You can use the below points to optimize and improve VM performance in a Hyper-V environment:

-Enable Hyper-V Integration Services
-Use fixed VHD files
-Don’t use Hyper-V snapshots as a Hyper-V backup alternative
-Configure the size of paging files
-Do not create too many virtual network switches
-Avoid overloading the management OS

Hyper-V virtual machines exhibit slow startup and shutdown https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/virtualization/virtual-machines-slow-startup-shutdown
