What Bit AES used in ALWAYSON Endpoints?

If I specify AES for ALWAYSON Endpoints, would it be 128-bit or 256-bit?

I believe that is 128 bit, but I am trying to get confirmation from Microsoft. 128bit was the answer in 2016 (year not version) but not sure if it has changed lately. Hope to hear soon.

Hi @JoshDani,

Hope everything goes well.
There is not detailed explanation in this official document: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/database-engine/database-mirroring/create-a-database-mirroring-endpoint-for-windows-authentication-transact-sql?view=sql-server-ver15
Thus, you can see the Feedback part and click this page to post your question.

Thank you. Hopefully they will also clarify when and how we can use AES 256
