SharePoint/OneDrive for Business - Sharing link verification ends in login screen


Our Sharepoint folders have been shared with specific people. If they now want to use the link and request the code to their e-mail address, you can still enter the e-mail address but after clicking on the "Next" button no verification code will be sent, but you will end up on the Login screen of M365. The external people can now no longer open shared documents.

Hi @Alena-8706,

External users need to enter a verification code when accessing for the first time, and only need to enter the account password of the external mailbox for subsequent access. Although it shows that you need to log in with the M365 account, when you log in with an external account, the system will automatically create a virtual Microsoft account for the external account for external users to use, so you can log in with the external account and password normally.
