Agent dependencies to run SPFx & PNP scripts

Please let me know what are the softwares/modules required and installed in the agent to execute the builds in azure devops.

  1. Will Azure DevOps MS agent will take care of PNP & SharePoint frame work scripts by default?

  2. If it is self hosted agent what are the modules, softwires and packaged need to be installed in the agent machine?

Hi @sns1,

According to my research and testing, you can set up Azure DevOps environment with CI/CD to automate your SharePoint Framework builds.

Here is an article contains how to set up an Azure DevOps environment and the module packages that need to be installed. You can refer to it.

Thank you for the response:

I have few questions, can you please clarify my below questions:

  • [ ] Same steps I should follow as it is mentioned in the document you have shared?


  • [ ] What exactly is unit test ? Do I need to follow this for every application to build as mandatory?

  • [ ] What about when we plan to implement CI. CD for PnP based PowerShell scripts ? What are the module packages and software dependencies to be installed i the respective agent?

Hi TongZhang,

I have followed the blog you have given, it is failed at the following step, looks like something wrong with variables I have provided but I gave correctly, Please correct me here. PFA where it is showing build ( release pipeline ) is failing due to these credentials. Please help
