Hi @Geoff Satterfield ,
Welcome to our forum!
As far as I know, from outlook, you can use auto fill feature to fill a name in the email body:
- Open a new Mail and navigate to ‘Quick Parts’ > Save Selection to Quick Part Gallery.
- On the Insert menu, point to Quick Parts> and select the word of phrase which you want to insert.

Is it possible to have a certain spot in the Body of a message get automatically filled in by what's in the To field?
According to my search, you'll need to use a macro. Here is an article about Make Outlook email template with variables using VBA.
