Explorer loading or freez after disconnect from VPN

Hi all

when home office go up, we stay against this problem.
On all NB we have mapped network drives by GPO.
When user is in VPN all is OK.
When he disconnect from VPN (we try it same on LAN its have same behavior), all browsing in file explorer is freezed or loooong loading .
Even click on download (on picture) go to "working on it".
Any click on network drive go to endlees loading or explorer freeze.

Even log out is not working and freeze on blue screen "loging out...."

We try this registry, this help only when PC is restarted then all is OK (not conected to VPN or LAN)

When i unmap all drives befor disconecting from VPN od LAN all is working perfect.

So some one have help with this ?
After disconecting from VPN / LAN , mapped drives is hangging explorer ...

Are you using Microsoft VPN or third-party VPN?
Check Event Viewer and see log files and see if there are any relevant logs there.

No there is no event log. Explorer trying to connect to network share and this hang or freez explorer or even other programs.
We using CISCO AnyConnect.

I try install CLEAN W10 (no domain, no GPO nothing), connect one network drive this have same problem..

Try with registry fix and killing explorer.exe (Then reopening through task manager).

Also check if VPN does set some sort of proxy @ Run Win+R => inetcpl.cpl

VPN not creating any proxy.
Restart explorer dont fix anytning.

Hi BelanMarek,

Does your connection to the mapped drive location rely on a functional Internet connection? If so, the VPN may be providing this and when you disconnect from the VPN, the connection is not there and therefore the lost mapped drive could be causing the hang.

Hanging on disconnected/unavailable network drives can be caused by netlogon being disabled. Please also check that your netlogon service is enabled on the PC:

Press Win + R hotkeys to launch the Run command box. Type services.msc and click OK.
Scroll down the list of services and find Netlogon.
Once you find it, double-click on it to open its properties.
In the properties window, select Automatic in the Startup type drop-down menu.
Now, click on the Start button.
After Service starts, click Apply and then OK.

We have netlogon on automatic, computers is part of domain.

Network drives is only accessible by VPN or LAN.
