Intune and store for education

Hey all,

I am running Intune / M365 environment on local school. Many of the apps students are using have been selected from Microsoft Store for Education and deployed via Intune. What happens to the apps after the retirement of the store? Can students still use already deployed apps even the store expires?

Another question is that is it worth to continue deploying apps from store for education until the end of the year (if the expiration is Q1/23)?

@nashamehr-7566 Thanks for posting in our Q&A.

Based on my research, apps that are already assigned and deployed to end user devices will continue to work as long as the app is not removed from the device. For more details, please refer to the following article:
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/windows-it-pro-blog/evolving-the-microsoft-store-for-business-and-education/ba-p/2569423

It is suggested to try to migrate LOB apps to your local private app repository before the retirement of the Microsoft Store for Business in Q1 2023.

Hope it is want you want.
