Need Advice on what to study

Good day,
I wanted to study the MCSA course but it expired. What's confusing to me is can I only with Azure certifications learn enough about Microsoft servers? To manage and administer them on-premises? Or is there something I can study before getting into Azure? I want to study the Azure administrator and the Azure Hybrid Microsoft server Administrator certs. Does anyone have any suggestions for me, please ..

Kind Regards
Dwayne

Hi @DwayneW-1144

Thanks for visiting our forum, and according to your description above, your issue is more related to Azure side, so I would help you modify the correct tag in your post. Hope your issue can be resolved soon, thanks for your understanding!

Hello @DwayneW-1144

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform,

I would start with the Azure Fundamentals certification:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/exams/az-900

Once done you can go with the Azure Administrator one or the Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/azure-administrator/
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/windows-server-hybrid-administrator/

I hope this helps!

Will I learn enough about Microsoft servers by just doing Azure? @LuisRodriguez-MSFT

Hi @DwayneW-1144

In my opinion the Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate covers Windows Server very well, you can find the skills measured for the exam below:

  • Deploy and manage Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) in on-premises and cloud environments

  • Manage Windows Servers and workloads in a hybrid environment

  • Manage virtual machines and containers

  • Implement and manage an on-premises and hybrid networking infrastructure

  • Manage storage and file services

  • Secure Windows Server on-premises and hybrid infrastructures

  • Implement and manage Windows Server high availability

  • Implement disaster recovery

  • Migrate servers and workloads

  • Monitor and troubleshoot Windows Server environments
