AOVPN in SYSTEM context?

I have currently an issue with Windows 11.

I have set up Always On VPN for my domain and it permit me to be connected without issues in my network, using IKEv2 EAP (PEAP) certificate authentication method.

When I start my VPN with Windows 10, I am connected without issue.

If I want to set up exactly the same VPN with Windows 11, it will failed with an error message: “A certificate could not be found that can be used with this Extensible Authentication Protocol” (error 798).

I see only 2 differences:

In Windows 11, I can only select the authentication method “Smart Card or other certificate (EAP-TLS)”, and it’s only “Smart Card or other certificate” in Windows 10.

In Windows 10, my VPN run with the user account, but it is running with the system account in Windows 11.

Did you already see an issue similar please?

Hello, do you have any news about it ? @CorentinPrima-5213

I'm facing exactly same issue as you, working without any issue on windows 10, and some users with windows 11 are starting to get that error, looks kind of a DNS issue, because when they start an older VPN used for our network, the vpn will then work...

They sure still have the certificate, but for any reason it's not using it to authenticate

If someone have any informations about it.

Thanks,

Kind regards,
