How do I get rid of a hard to detect trojan on my windows 11 computer?

What happened is that I tried to download a pirated software that happened to be a trojan. I did a full system scan using Norton and nothing was detected. I downloaded kaspersky which did in fact detect at least 20 viruses on my computer including a virus called Meterpreter. Some of the viruses even prevented me from completely scanning my system and even blocked my internet access.

At this point I decided to do a complete factory reset on my computer. After the reset my computer seemed to be normal but I noticed some unusual files still left in my computer. I ran another full system scan on my computer using kaspersky and it detected nothing. I was relieved but I noticed that my computer was acting up again. I downloaded Microsoft Safety Scanner and it did detect malicious files on my computer although it couldn’t completely finish the scan.

I’m completely desperate and I have no idea what to do. It seems like the viruses are preventing antivirus software to function properly and evading it as well. Can someone please give me resolution.

Hi @AaronNaser-5425 ,

I would recommend to do a full clean installation using a trusted installation source.
Before starting copy all relevant data files you need later (e.g. on a USB stick). But be careful not to backup/copy malicious files.
Get all required drivers before deleting the computer (e.g. on a USB stick) if they are not included in the Windows 11 installation media by default.
I would remove all existing partitions with all the data on it during the setup process. This is the best way to get rid of all malicious files.

Is it safe to remove everything during the setup process?
