Azure B2C - how many enterprise identity providers can I configure in a tenant?

Hello,

My company considers using Azure B2C. We're happy to see that enterprise identity providers like SAML or AD FS are supported. However, we couldn't find any information about number of such providers that can be added to a single B2C tenant.

My question is: how many identity providers (especially enterprise ones) can we add to a single tenant?

Thanks!

Best regards,
Ryszard Tarajkowski

Hi @RyszardTarajkowski-2889 • Thank you for reaching out.

I understand that you want to know the maximum limit of Enterprise IDPs that can be added to B2C.

There is no limit defined specifically for the number of IDPs that you can add to a B2C tenant. However, there is a limit of 200 on the number of custom policy (XML) files + Users Flows per Azure AD B2C tenant. If you want to add SAML IDP(s), you will have to use the custom policy as user flows don't support SAML IDPs as of now.

So, if you are just using the custom policy, you can have as many IDPs as you can incorporate into 200 custom policy files. That means you can add thousands of IDPs, which is a huge limit for a single organization to hit.

This is why Azure AD B2C configuration limits, doesn't include any limits mentioned for the number of IDPs that can be added.

Hope this answers your question.

I think you need this.

Number of B2C tenants per subscription is 20.

You will find more information here.
