I contacted Microsoft support because I was having an issue changing the recovery account on my Microsoft Authenticator app. They told me to delete the app and reinstall it. After I did that, all my 2 factor authentication accounts I had setup on the app got deleted, and when I select restore from backup, I get the same error message I was getting when trying to change the recovery account.
When I go to backup, it says the backup is still saved to my iCloud account, but every time I delete the app and reinstall it, I get the same error message when I try to restore the backup.
