I am in Argentina, and purchased a new Lenovo IdeaPad which came with Windows 10 home in spanish. I want my display language to be english and found out that it is not possible to change the language with the home edition.
I then purchased the upgrade to Windows 10 pro in the Microsoft Store. Instalation seemed to go smoothly and after a very long process I finally had my laptop running again and was able to set english as display language.
However I began to see messages to activate Windows, even though all the installation instructions stated clearly that I was purchasing a digital license and that activation would be automatic, without a product key.
I went to Activation and got messages saying that "We can't activate Windows on this device because you don't have a valid digital license..." I ran the Troubleshoot program, which as a very helpful answer said "We can't activate Windows right now try again later or go to the store and buy a genuine license." I repeat: I did start by buying a license and I got the invoice sent to my mail.
There is an hex number that seems to be an error code: 0xc002001b, but I could not find the explanation. I went through a number of support pages which all end up being circular and at some point return to a page that has already been visited.
There are a number of broken links in many of them with page not found errors ! I called all the support numbers, especially the Microsoft Argentina support number: after typing many numbers to navigate to what I believed was the section that would answer my questions, the calls drop with no one answering.
How can I get help ????
I have just noticed that my Activation page states Windows Enterprise: I purchased Windows Pro. Could this be the issue? How or why did Enterprise get installed? How can I change to Pro?
Thank you for any help!
