Cluster Service on Hyper-V is hanging

Hi,

Is there a known bug in the windows 2016 cluster service? My 2 node windows 2016 physical and 2 node hyper-v clusters always shows a black screen after entering the windows credentials and when I restart one of the nodes, the cluster service hangs.

Hello

Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having issues related to while rebooting Cluster node.

Please try to Reboot Hyper-V Node using below practices.

  1. Make sure all VM's are migrated to another host/node or are turned off

  2. Make sure all storage is assigned to another host/node than the one you want to reboot/turn off. You see this in failover cluster manager under storage

  3. Make sure the cluster it self belongs to/is owned by a node/host other than the one your rebooting/halting. You see this on the "frontpage" of the cluster in failover cluster manager. You click the name of the cluster and you see what the value of "current host server says"

  4. Run Cluster validation Wizard and verify cluster Health is Good.

Seems there is a problem connecting to the SAN Storage LUNs because once the second cluster node is up, both the servers are unable to access the SAN Storage.
