enabling modern authention impact

Hi,
We want to enable the Modern authentication for our Office365 tanent so we can enable the MFA for some of our users.
It looks like that modern authentication on our tanent was disabled by default ( we bought if beofre 2017).
We want to know that enabling the modern authentication what impact would have on users that already configured the outlook 2019 client on thier laptops, also what heppens to the users that already configured the outlook clients on thier IOS ( version 14) devices?

Does enabling the Modern Authention will automatically disable the Basic authentication? So the IOS users must recreate thier profiles or there is no need for that.
Has anyone done this?

    Correct. Outlook clients will continue to work as usual.
    Here is the default behavior for Outlook Clients when Modern Auth is enabled and when its not:

    When you want the IOS Native Mail clients to use Modern Auth, then you would need to recreate their mobile profiles to take advantage of that , but until then they will continue to use Basic auth as long as its enabled.

    Enabling Modern Auth is not the same as disabling Basic Auth :)

    When you enable it, you are simply allowing its use. It doesnt mean that basic auth doesnt work anymore. Your existing basic auth client will continue to work.
    From there you can start to identify the basic auth clients and start moving them to modern auth and MFA

    Thanks for youre reply,
    I already saw this artical, but still did not answer my questions, regarding what heppens Basic authentication.
    Also the artical says that "Enabling or disabling modern authentication has no impact Exchange ActiveSync in iOS 11 or later" how this can be, when outlook profiles on IOS devices were created when only the Basic authentication was enabled.
