Installed downloaded rpm from MS website. Stock RHEL 7.8 fully updated. yum deplist showed no unresolved dependencies. yum install went smoothly with no errors.
results in nothing. Poking around shows teams immediately segfaults.
Last entry from dmesg:

Any ideas here? Same result on two different installs with different HW.

I have the same issue as of the latest Teams update. I am running teams-1.3.00.16851 on Linux Mint 20 (locally, not using VNC). Also, while I can now see more than 4 participants, video streams are blank.

Make sure that you have installed the official Teams app correctly.
In order to exclude the account problem, it recommends you try to log in Teams web client(https://teams.microsoft.com).
Besides, uninstall and reinstall the app and try again.

Thanks for answering. Yes, the web app works perfectly, but the native Linux app does not. I removed (yum erase) and re-installed from repository:
packages.microsoft.com/yumrepos/ms-teams
Version 1.3.00.16851-1 was (re) installed with the same result.
From what I can tell, the segfault is in libX11.so.6.3.0
After more experimentation, the issue seems to be a remote display to a RealVNC session, our current working model during the COVID-19 WAH. TigerVNC (bundled with RHEL7) seems to work, so it appears that teams is triggering a bug within RealVNC when doing remote display via RealVNC. Teams seems to work properly when displayed on a tigervnc remote session.
