When going into Windows Update settings on 2004 release of Windows 10, it says update policies are in place (as shown below).

Its only impacting Windows 10 2004. Older Windows 10 versions are fine.

We're using Azure AD.

There are no local group policies in place.

gpresult does not show any policies that include windows updates.

I solved this after reading multiple articles suggesting local group policies need to be turned on, then immediately back off.

In local group policy editor "Configure Automatic Updates" was "Not configured", as expected. I set it to enabled, pressed OK, then, immediately set it back to "Not configured" and pressed OK. This immediately removed the "*Some settings are managed by your organization" notice shown in my original post and everything is as it should be.

Incidentally, the above completely removed the "Windows Update" registry branch, as you might expect.

There is obviously a bug somewhere that should be addressed.

    Hello @Fred Ganter ,

    Thank you for posting here.

In order to better help you troubleshoot the problem, Could you please provide us more detail of the issue you encountered? Or share some more information as follows:

    1. Do you have local AD?
    2. In response to this description "There are no local group policies in place.", what do you mean there are no local AD group policies?
    3. For this sentence, “it’s only impacting Windows 10 2004. Older Windows 10 versions are fine.” What is the difference between the old and new versions and what effect did it have on Windows 10 2004?

Thank you so much for your time and support. I look forward to your updated reply.

    Best regards,
    Stephanie Yu
