We are seeing large data outbound traffic to the following IPs:

40.71.12.224
52.239.176.74
104.43.247.104
40.79.154.87-
104.154.142.144
40.71.12.22

We know they are MS IP's and believe they are Azure related ,but can not find them listed in the public or private Azure IPs listed in the JSON files here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56519 and here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=57063 . Any additional info would be helpful

    Hi @RA ,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform. Thank you for reaching out & I hope you are doing well.
I understand that you would like to know more about the IP ranges you have mentioned.

I checked the IP addresses you have shared, and except for 104.154.142.144, everything belongs to Microsoft.
However, they are not part of Azure.

The easiest way to check whether an IP is in Azure range is to use this tool: https://www.azurespeed.com/Azure/IPLookup
This tool will not include Microsoft ranges.

There are many services that VMs or other PaaS resources may require to function effectively.

    Hope this helps.
Kindly let me know if you require further information

P.S : The IP Address 104.154.142.144 belongs to Google.

    Thanks,
    Kapil
