Correct, I cant open command prompt, registry or any exe files.

I also cannot open task manager or the system configuration app. It still prompts the box "how do you wan to open this file?"

I figured my installed apps/programs (i.e. google chrome, spotify) are all working, they just have a blank icon.

Shall I just do a restore?

I tried following the instructions to do a system restore however I get the error:

"The file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action.Please install an app, or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page."
