On XSLT and LINQ to XML...

Yesterday Mike Champion (on XML team in Data Programmability) wrote up a post answering the question: 'Why does the world need another XML API?'

The question is a summary of some the feedback we've heard regarding XLinq LINQ to XML. Mike explains some of the rationale with some technical historical context (XMLReader / XMLWriter, DOM, XQuery and XSLT) on where we today and where we are trying to get to.

M.David Peterson then responded to Mike's post (on O'Reilly's XML.com). I really love this:

"The folks behind the future direction of XML at Microsoft get it."

Look out for lots more dialogue ahead in the coming year with XML community.
