Chicago VSTS User Group: Extending Team Foundation Server 2008-SP1

After a long summer hiatus, it's time for the next meeting of the Chicago Visual Studio Team System User Group. We've got a lot of new information to present to you, so we will be meeting much more regularly in the fall and winter. The next meeting will be on Thursday, October 2nd in the Microsoft Chicago Loop office. Daniel Sniderman of Magenic will be speaking about Extending Team Foundation Server 2008-SP1. This is very cool stuff that will help you get the maximum return on your TFS investment dollar. In Daniel's words,

"One of the key advantages of Team Foundation Server is the integration of its features and its easy extensibility. I will explain TFS Extensibility and demonstrate a Proof-of-concept application that shows how to automatically "Log" unhandled exceptions to TFS Work Item tracking. This presentation will show a hands-on demo of modifying the Process Template, Team Build and the TFS API."

This meeting will be in downtown Chicago at the Microsoft Fortress of Solitude at 77 W Wacker, Suite 2300. Pizza will be at 5:30 and the talk will begin at 6:00. To sign up, please email Dave Laskowski. Feel free to forward this email anyone you think might want to come.

To all our suburban members, don't worry. We'll be out in Downers Grove for the next session. There will be some very, very cool new things being announced at the MSFT Professional Developers Conference at the end of October. It's so cool that:
1) We'll be presenting the info downtown AND in the suburbs
2) I have no idea what it is because Microsoft is not allowed to tell me!
Check our web site for updates later in October!
Finally, if you have any ideas for topics you would like to hear about, please email me and let me know. We will do our best to accommodate. Also, if you or someone from your company would like to speak at one of our sessions, let me know! We can always use more speakers.
