TechReady 6

While I cannot disclose most of what I have learned, I just wanted to tell people I am in Seattle attending TechReady 6 so my blog posts have been sparse lately.  For people who do not know, TechReady is essentially Tech Ed but for internal only folks here at Microsoft.  We got to hear about the next version of Visual Studio, the future roadmap of VSTS and TFS ("Rosario"), futures on the .NET Framework, and of course the company in general.  There was of course a ton of other great topics but I have major tunnel-vision for Developer Tools.

One major bit of excitement for me is that this year I presented.  Only 18 months at the company and already sharing knowledge in one of the scariest forums ever :)  One of my counterparts in the Business Intelligence space and I presented the concept of hooking PPS (Performance Point Server) to TFS in order to allow for deep analytics and executive dash-boarding on the  IT project related data collected in TFS.  It was extremely well received and we have generated a lot of buzz both inside and outside of the company.  So if any of you out there are interested in hearing more about this idea, let me know.  I plan to present it at a future VSTS User Group meeting in Chicago, and potentially at an upcoming TFS Sig meeting in Indianapolis.  Of course, we can certainly come to your company to discuss it as well.  I'll keep you updated as I learn more about this idea, as we are still working on getting all the details ironed out.

Wish I could share the extremely exciting things I have learned about our roadmap, but I'd have to kill you all as soon as I told you and that is just not going to fit into my schedule :)  I will blog about anything I am allowed to once I return, and will be sure to link you to any product team member posts sharing news as well.
