Microsoft Dynamic Datacentre Workshop - Register now for this free 2 day technical workshop
Yes they are on again! You may recall that in May of this year we ran a series of Virtualisation workshops around Australia. Well they are on again with a slight name change to reflect some new content that we have added.
So version 2.0 of this workshop is called the Dynamic Datacentre Workshop which reflect some private cloud content that we have added on day 2.
Attend this free Virtualisation event and get up to date with Microsoft’s Virtualisation technologies! This event will travel to 6 capital cities starting on February 1st 2011 and continuing throughout the month.
Please see all the details below of the event along with registration links! Make sure you register now as seats are limited!
To attend this event you will need to bring your own laptop with you. To connect to the labs you will need the Remote Desktop Connection Client 7.0 Update installed. This client is built into Windows 7 and is a free download for Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista SP1 and SP2. We have already run these events in other countries and it works extremely well. There will be food provided and in each city we will be giving away a copy of the latest Hyper-V Resource Kit. So to the agenda:
This workshop aims at providing an in-depth understanding of Microsoft’s server virtualisation technologies. They are the basis of a dynamic infrastructure and provide the building blocks of a private cloud solution. The workshop covers the following:
- Day 1
- Virtualisation 360 Overview
- Hyper-V Architecture and Implementation
- High Availability
- Lab – Setup a 2-node Hyper-V Cluster
- System Centre Virtual Machine Manager
- Day 2
- System Centre Operations Manager
- Lab – Setup SCVMM, SCOM and Pro-Pack integration
- System Centre Data Protection Manager
- Lab: Setup DPM and backup virtual machines
- Architecture Considerations and Best Practices
- Virtual Machine Manager Self Service Portal 2.0
- Lab: Deploy, Configure & Use VMMSSP 2.0
- Day 1
Dates and Registration Details:
We are capping registrations at 40 participants per city for this event. For the labs we will be using 40 Hyper-V hosts that are hosted in a Microsoft Datacentre in the US. Each attendee will use 2 Hyper-V hosts to setup and work with a 2-node cluster. If we have 40 attendees for each event then the attendees will have to work in teams of 2 for the labs. 40 Hyper-V hosts means 20 2 node clusters = 2 attendees per cluster to do the labs.
