I’m currently preparing an architectural talk about “Indigo” and the underlying WS protocols. It willtake place at the technical university in Vienna (TU-Wien) on 9th March 2004. This talk won't be solely about “Indigo” but moreover demonstrate .NET’s position as the leading platform for building innovative and seamless integrated solutions.

“Indigo” – Communication Framework and Protocols for .NET

Web Services are the foundation for building state of the art distributed applications as well as for developing interoperable services. "Indigo" extends the current .NET framework and represents Microsoft's programming model for building connected applications and Web Services. It is built on top of the WS protocol specifications to guarantee interoperability between different service platforms. The first part of this talk is dedicated to the concepts that empower a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) where the second part covers the architecture behind the “Indigo” framework and the leveraged WS-protocols (Security, Transaction, Reliable Messaging, Addressing, and Policy).
