Tell us who you are and your role in the company:
Head of Marketing and Business Development.
What did you do before creating your company?
Andrew Witkin, was Director of Marketing for MEGA Brands and VP North American Licensing for Nelvana (Corus Entertainment), Witkin earned a reputation for creating innovative and impactful marketing campaigns.
How do you feel being the most promising ‘Startup of the Day’ per Microsoft BizSpark?
We think it is an excellent opportunity to showcase our platform and the .NET platform. Our web application is very powerful and highly scalable.

StickerYou offers a flexible and easy-to-use online technology for people to create their own high-quality vinyl stickers.
How did you get the idea for your company?
StickerYou was founded in 2008 by Andrew Witkin, who was inspired during a walk on Los Angeles’ Manhattan Beach when he noticed how stickers played a huge role in the local scene and culture but realized how difficult it was for individuals to create ‘cool’ stickers themselves.
Tell us about your funding history. Are you currently looking for funding? If so, how much?
StickerYou has raised growth capital from a prominent group of Canadian angels, including Jason Chapnik (Chairman of Dealer.com), Greg Coleman (Romspen Investment Corporation), Jordan Banks through his investment firm Thunder Road Capital, K2 and Associates Investment Management, and Jonathan Graff (Co-President of Benecaid).

11 Employees, 4 Developers.
Are you hiring?If yes, what are you hiring for and where?
We just completed final hiring for the year, but will be hiring in the future as growth continues.
Which platform are you building on?Why?
.NET (with the “Sticker Maker” being built using Flex).
Where do you see opportunities today in the Software/Internet area?
We think there are a lot of opportunities in the personalization space as everything moves to social. StickerYou is already capitalizing on this phenomenon.
What do you think about the BizSpark Program?
BizSpark is an excellent program to help connect companies, press and capital together.
Do you have any advice for young Software entrepreneurs?
Build just the core idea – not the frills. Iterate the build with customer feedback/analytics to evolve the software as the business model takes sharper form.
Who’s your role model?
Santa Claus – he just keeps giving.
What’s the ONE THING you would like readers to take away from this interview?
My life is bit better knowing I can help people express themselves through a fun medium like stickers.
