Microsoft Sales, Marketing & Services Teams to Join R&D Groups in Cambridge

Microsoft Sales, Marketing & Services Teams to Join R&D Groups in Cambridge

This afternoon I shared some exciting news with our employees.  In about a year, the majority of our Massachusetts-based employees will be located together on our Cambridge Campus.

In August of 2012, our Microsoft employees based in Waltham and our Microsoft Technology Center (MTC) will be moving to One Cambridge Center, just a short walk from the majority of our R&D employees at our New England Research and Development Center at One Memorial Drive.

We are excited to have our employees literally steps away from each other on a central campus in Kendall Square – the world’s most innovative square mile. Building on the presence that Microsoft has in Cambridge, we will be creating a progressive workspace at One Cambridge Center that will foster stronger collaboration across all of our Microsoft teams.

Our close proximity not only benefits employees, it also provides an avenue to better serve our customers, partners and the community.  With our sales, marketing and services employees, our MTC and our R&D teams all in one area, we will be able to provide an easily accessible, state-of-the-art hub where we can more effectively work with and host customers, partners and local businesses.  Additionally, our campus brings us closer to leading academic institutions, and will allow us to further enhance our relationship with thought leaders at MIT, Harvard and other academic institutions.

We are excited to take this step and strengthen our ties to the Cambridge area.  Microsoft’s Cambridge Campus reflects the value we place in Massachusetts as an innovative center and demonstrates our commitment to the tech community and our customers and partners.
