CodeCamp: Integrating Silverlight into Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007

The good folks at Non~Linear Creations informed me of this fantastic opportunity to learn how to integrate Silverlight into MOSS 2007.  If you're going to be in the Greater Toronto Area on March 1, 2008 and have some spare time, you should think about registering for the Toronto Code Camp and attend their session.

Below are the details of the session:

MOSS 2007 and Silverlight Integration

March 1, 2008 04:00 PM - 05:15 PM Room: E

Andy Nogueira, Nonlinear creations Inc.

In this session we'll explore different scenarios for integrating SharePoint and Silverlight. SharePoint 2007 is an amazing framework that has an incredible set of built-in features such as Web Parts, Collaboration, Workflow, Security, LOB integration, Search, etc. In this session we'll demonstrate how to leverage some of these features to create a real Rich Internet Application (RIA) using SharePoint and Silverlight together.

If you do wish to attend, please register soon as I expect the spots to fill up quickly.  This is one of many interesting sessions that will be held that day, and it is completely free - all you need to do is register.

The address for the code camp is as follows:

Manulife Financial Corporation
200 Bloor Street East
Toronto, Ontario
M4W 1E5

With the new and improved features of SharePoint 2007, it is becoming a very powerful platform to build Web 2.0 portals both internally and externally.  Likewise, Silverlight is an exciting new technology for building rich interaction with users on the web.  Putting the two together makes a very interesting mashup of interaction that may bring a great user experience to the people using your application.  As a result, a session like this is definitely worth seeing.
