WES BARCALOW: INTRODUCTION

Hello! I joined Microsoft back in 2006 and have lived in the Seattle area nearly all my life. I developed a love of technology at a young age (my father still reminds me about the time I took my remote control car apart and couldn’t put it back together). I followed my passion to college and received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University. Believe it or not, I started my career doing what I was educated for, as an associate hardware engineer at a small aerospace company. I enjoyed both embedded software development and hardware design, but it was the embedded software design that I really took a liking too.

Years later, here at Microsoft, I work on the Windows CE Base Drivers and Board Support Package (BSP) team. I spend most of my time developing drivers to enable Silicon Vendors (SV’s) to get their BSPs to the market as quickly as possible.
