CEE Community Open Days 2016 in Prague, Czech Republic
On March, 16-17 CEE Community Open Days 2016 took place in Prague, Czech Republic by strong support and great collaboration with Microsoft DX team.
The high quality content was delivered by MVPs, Microsoft and an OSS influencer in 3+1 tracks and 28 sessions (Dev, IT Pro, DBA, IoT, Business and Soft Skills). 2nd day content was community topics related which allows MVPs to interact more and share their feedback.
The first day was really open for various community members and guests including MVPs, RDs, MSPs, OSS influencers and some UG leaders.
We had a lot of great sessions delivered on top topics (Azure, HoloLens, F#, Internet of Things, Agile, scrum and many others). All the sessions were recorded and uploaded to Channel9.
The second day Naseem Tuffaha started with MVP Program updates and Microsoft targets sharing some special content with MVPs. After having some community related sessions we had full of vivid networking and discussion Focus Groups with strong and profound feedback shared with us.
All in all, having attendees from 18 CEE countries we wanted to make an event with community spirit, some technical content and traditional Czech flavor in it. It helped us to get a lot of positive feedbacks about location, good content and entertainment part too.
Attendees’ general impressions about the event:
“My first CEE Community Open Days and I enjoyed it very much. Thanks Marina, Gerbert and the whole team involved for creating such a cool event for us. I look forward to the next Open Days!”
“Prague was brilliant choice for the event. Thanks to all who was involved in organizing!”
“Top level organization! Thank you!”
Geo.Game Prague Explorer
To be in Prague and not to explore it would be a big fail! And that’s always better to make sightseeing full of social and networking opportunities so we wanted to avoid traditional guides with long talks and too crowded touristic places visiting. Thus, Czech DX Team had a great idea to develop a Windows Phone Geo.Game app with points on Prague map for to follow them. All attendees were divided into groups of 5-7 starting the way from the event venue to the dinner place which were located right in the city center. It took about an hour of walk and 10 checkpoints with short descriptions of the added sightseeing places. As a result it helped us to let attendees have a good walk after long day of sessions, see night Prague and let us keep them networking and socializing in groups. Afterwards, we got a lot of excited feedbacks about this activity.
How attendees found that:
“Prague Explorer was great!”
“Thank you for organizing a fantastic trip! It gave us time to talk and to explore and collaborate... Fantastic! Thank you!”
“A bit long, but it was fun and needed after a day of sitting.”
Special thanks to Naseem Tuffaha and Alexander Lozhechkin for delivering keynotes and MVP Program update.
