TFS 2008 Feature List finalized

Brian Harry, a VSTS Product Group Manager, just published what he believes to be the final feature list that is going to be in Visual Studio 2008 Team Foundation Server release. It's a pretty extensive list. I highly recommend you check it out.

A couple of features I'd like to point out that are going to be in this release that pretty cool are:

  • New check-in policy for broken Continuous Integration (CI) builds - One thing I found really annoying with CI builds is that if someone checked in code that "broke the build," other than notifying everyone that "David broke the build again," there was no way to stop people from checking their code into the repository and causing a cascading effect of more bad builds being created for the project. With this policy it will act as a gatekeeper and force the developer who broke the build to fix it.
  • Sharepoint 2007 and MOSS 2007 support - One of the most commonly asked questions I've received from customers is about is Sharepoint 2007 and MOSS 2007 support. Not only will TFS 2008 support Sharepoint 2007 and MOSS 2007, but it will allow you to use your existing Sharepoint server farm as well.

Excelsior!
