CeBIT 2004 Sydney - Thoughts
I did a wander of the floor at CeBIT today. What struck me was the number of companies doing the same thing - mms gateways, content management systems, web-based erp, sales force automation, mobile field service, crazy embedded devices. Lots of good ideas chasing customers and problems to be solved.
There was lots of wacky stuff, which appeals to me. I saw a company called USB Technology, and I got really excited. Maybe they had the USB iDuck, or the USB toothbrush, or USB blanket, or USB massage ball, or USB coffee cup, But no, they had none of these. What a misnomer! They did have USB flash drives and USB hard drives. I bought a 40GB drive for $200. I haggled. It felt good. I'm sure I paid too much!
