Q...not just for 007 anymore

So I got a new phone at the end of last week, and I'm delighted.

I've been using the Palm Treo 700w, which I liked very much, but which did not support A2DP audio, which meant no go for my nifty Plantronics Pulsar 590A bluetooth stereo headset (which, BTW, rocks!).

So although I really like the Pocket PC Phone platform, especially the wide variety of add-on software for it, I decided to give the Motorola Q Smartphone a try. So far, I'm really liking it.

In addition to the support for A2DP (streaming stereo audio over bluetooth), the Q comes with a very cool app called BT PC Remote, which allows you to control your PC via your phone. In addition to just generally controlling the mouse, it has specific settings for Windows Media Player and Powerpoint, the latter of which I used yesterday in a presentation. I have, for a long time, carried a separate presentation tool to allow me to remotely advance and back up slides, etc., and having the ability to do this directly from my phone is very cool, if almost terminally geeky.

And as if I haven't already made this post geeky enough...the last 3 digits of my cell phone number just happen to be...

007

Coincidence? I think not...
