An unlikely advocate for Health IT–What would Desmond Tutu do?

You might not expect a 79 year old activist, retired Anglican bishop, and Nobel laureate to be a staunch advocate for Health ICT, but it turns out that information technology is highly regarded by Desmond Mpilo Tutu. That’s what we found out when he joined us during one of the early episodes of Microsoft Health Tech Today. Of course, Archbishop Tutu didn’t appear on our program to sing the praises of IT in big hospitals and clinics. He joined us to encourage the use of Health ICT as a modality to effectively and more affordably deliver information and services to some of the world’s most disadvantaged populations. Here were his opening comments.
